The following information will help you find out about all aspects of your stay at one of our Luxury Cottages.

Gerties Getaway

Gertie's was completely remodelled in 2019 to a very high standard. The cottage was built in 1880 and still retains some original features. The ground floor is light and spacious and has an open plan living dining and fully equipped kitchen area, a downstairs WC and access from the kitchen to the secure outdoor yard area. The living area has 2 comfortable sofas (one is a double sofa bed for extra guests) and a cosy log burner. The first floor boasts 2 double bedrooms (one kingside bed and one double bed) both with ample storage, a smaller bedroom with 2 full size single beds and a family bathroom with full size bath and separate shower cubicle.

Outside there is a sunny and private decked area (not overlooked) with table and chairs, seating area and hose. It is fully enclosed with a lockable gate leading to a grassed area outside the rear of the cottage.

Tilly’s Lookout

Tilly's was completely renovated and remodelled in 2020 by ourselves also to a very high standard and is set over 3 floors with fantastic views from the Master Suite across the Marina. The ground floor is spacious and has an open plan living, dining and kitchen area and a downstairs WC. The living area is cosy with 2 sofas (one is a double sofa bed) and a log burner. Access to the secure outdoor area is from French doors leading from the kitchen. The first floor has a large family bathroom with full size bath and separate shower cubicle and 2 bedrooms. The first bedroom has 2 full size single beds, ample storage and views across the Marina and the second bedroom has a kingsize bed and ample storage. The second floor is the Master Bedroom Suite with views across the Marina, a kingsize bed and ensuite bathroom.Please note the master bedroom has some restricted head height (please see the photo's and enquire if you have any concerns). Outside there is a sunny yard area with seating. It is completely secure with views over the town square.

Please note the clock in the town square will chime and may be heard from the rear bedrooms.

Dexters Den 

Dexter's was completely renovated and extended in April 2022 and is arguably one of the most sought after holiday cottages in Amble. The ground floor boasts a separate living room with log burner and 2 sofas (one sofa is a double sofa bed), and smart TV. The kitchen diner is open and airy with bi fold doors to the rear fully enclosed garden. The kitchen is extremely well equipped with smeg appliances, dishwasher, washing machine, tumble dryer, hob and oven. The kitchen has a dining table seating 6 guests and bar stools at the breakfast bar on the island. The dining area also has a sofa and Samsung "art" smart TV. There is also an additional ground floor WC.

The first floor has a family bathroom with full size bath and over bath shower and 3 bedrooms. The master bedroom is at the rear of the property with a kingsize bed, ensuite shower room and views over the harbour and coast. The 2nd bedroom has a kingsize bed and overlooks the town square. The 3rd bedroom has 2 full size bespoke bunk beds and overlooks the town square.

Please note the front bedrooms face the town square and you may hear the chime of the clock tower.

Shanes Retreat 

Shane's was completely renovated in November 2021 by ourselves and is a fabulous spacious 2 bedroom mid terraced cottage. The ground floor is spacious with a separate living room with 2 sofas, log burner and smart TV. The kitchen diner is well equipped with dining table seating 4 guests, fully fitted kitchen with dishwasher, washer/dryer, oven and hob. There are patio doors that leading from the dining area to the large fully enclosed rear garden.

The first floor has 2 good sized bedrooms. The master bedroom has a double bed and the 2nd bedroom has 2 full size single beds. There is a family bathroom with full size bath and over bath shower.

Shanes Retreat is located roadside and you may hear the occasional traffic noise from the front of the property.

The Hideaway Warkworth

This  wonderful ground floor apartment is tucked away behind the Main Street in Warkworth and completely renovated by ourselves in May 2022 and a new kitchen in January 2023. It sits comfortably in small complex of only 3 other apartments. It is accessed via a shared courtyard from the front and the apartment is all on one level making it perfect for guests with limited mobility and families with small children. From the hallway the apartment leads to 2 bedrooms (one kingsize at the rear and one with 2 full size single beds at the front) and a stunning family bathroom with free standing bath and separate double walk in shower. The open plan living/ dining area has a well equipped fully fitted kitchen with oven, hob,dishwasher and smeg appliances. The living area has a large comfortable leather sofa seating 4 guests and a Samsung "art" smart TV. There is a small separate utility room with washer/dryer. The apartment has the rare additional of a large fully enclosed private rear garden which is assessed from the living room.


We believe the information and photos on our website, facebook and Instagram pages are a true and accurate reflection of our Cottages.

Getting There


Our cottages are all located in Amble by the Sea “The Friendliest Port” and the historic village of Warkworth and are around a 15 minutes drive from the A1. The nearest rail station is Alnmouth and is around 10 minutes drive. We are happy to provide details of rail and bus access.


We will email your check in details including the full address 7 days prior to your stay.

Arrival / Departure

Check in time is from 5pm.

We operate a self service check in and the keys will be located in the secure key box. Full details of the location of the key box and key code will be emailed to you 7 days prior to your check in. We are unable to provide this information earlier than 7 days as the key codes are regularly changed.

If we are able to offer you an early check in we will advise the day before your arrival.

Check out time is 10am.

Full check out details will be emailed to you along with the check in information. We ask that you kindly vacate the cottage by 10am to allow our cleaners to enter and prepare the cottage for our next guests. If we are able to offer you a later check out we will advise a few days prior to your check out.

Whats included in your stay

Prior to your arrival your cottage will be thoroughly cleaned. All utilities (electric, wifi, etc) are included in your stay. If your stay with us is more than 7 days we will offer you a change of bedding and towels at no additional cost on the 8th day. All bed linen, bath towels and beach towels are also provided. We request you do not use the bath towels to take to the beach. Additional beach towels are provided for this.

Welcome pack - we provide a small welcome pack for your stay which will include toilet rolls, tea bags, coffe, dishwasher tablets and washing machine tablets. Handwash is also present in all toilets and bathrooms.

Log Burner

All our cottages (excluding The Hideaway Warkworth) have log burners and we provide a starter pack with lighters, logs and kindling. It you are staying with children or dogs please take extra precautions and do not leave them unattended while the log burner is on.


Whilst we love our four legged friends, Dogs are not permitted on beds. If your dog is a "sofa surfer" please bring your own throws with you and ensure they completely cover the sofas to avoid any muddy paw prints.. We also request that you do not leave them un-attended in the cottage with our prior agreement.

We provide dog towels and blankets and dog feeding and water bowels. We request you do not under any circumstances use bath towels or plates for your dog. We do not charge an additional fee for dogs, however any costs associated with any additional cleaning requirements or dog waste removal will be deducted from your security deposit.

Whats not included

Please ensure you have adequate Holiday Insurance prior to booking our cottages.

Guest Folder and Guest Book

There is a guest folder located at the Cottage with useful information and things to do in the local area.

There is a guest book located at the Cottage and we really appreciate and comments or review you are happy to leave.

Covid -19 Cleaning Policy

All our cottages are cleaned and sanitised to an extremely high standard as demonstrated by our lovely guest reviews. We are “good to go” accredited by the UK government and Airbnb accredited for Covid 19 safety practices and the 5 step enhanced cleaning protocols.
